Welcome

Recognizing a need in her community, Stacey Edwards founded Special Equestrians of Georgia in 2006.  A registered PATH International Instructor, Stacey brings therapeutic horseback riding to individuals with physical, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs.

ABOUT US

Therapeutic riding is specifically designed for  people with special needs to provide such benefits as increased independence,  improved self- esteem and confidence as well as positive social interactions. Today, SEG has two PATH certified instructors, a licensed Occupational Therapist and a licensed Physical Therapist to assist those with these needs in the heart of horse country in Atlanta's North Fulton County.

In addition to our onsite riding and therapy programs, we also offer a variety of community outreach opportunities. In cooperation with the Starlight Foundation, we have miniature horses that are specially trained and house-broken that we take to visit all of the children's hospitals in the Atlanta region. Our mini horses are also our special ambassadors to rehab centers, nursing homes, schools, and other local events such as the Abilities Expo and Mckeever's First Ride.

The mission of Special Equestrians of Georgia, Inc. is to provide a nurturing therapeutic environment to help individuals facing physical, emotional, and mental challenges. It is Special Equestrians goal to provide a supportive environment that empowers all types of riders through equine assisted activities to reach their full potential.
